Hearthside Grove Lake Erie is a stone’s throw away from the shores of Lake Erie on Ohio’s Northcoast in beautiful Ashtabula County. The county boasts of having the most shoreline (26 miles) than any other county, is Ohio’s largest wine-producing region, and has the largest collection of covered bridges. GRAND RIVER VALLEY WINERY TOURS
Visit up to 4 of our 24 area wineries; enjoy food, live music, cellar tours and the beauty of the growing region complimented by the unique setting of each winery. Tours depart from the Welcome Center, Fridays and Saturdays at 5 pm. Tour is 4 hours long. Tour stops are "passenger choice" with guidance from your driver. *
ASHTABULA COUNTY COVERED BRIDGE TOURS
Enjoy the scenery and architecture of our 19 covered bridges, including the longest and shortest bridge in the United States. Lunch is included at Covered Bridge Pizza Parlor – in an actual covered bridge. Tours depart from the Welcome Center, Sundays at 11 am. Tour is 4 hours long. Tour stops are "passenger choice" with guidance from your driver. *

Reserve one of our electric carts and enjoy easy access to a range of activities and amenities within Hearthside Grove Lake Erie and Geneva-on-the-Lake (golf cart friendly communities). When you arrive, park your vehicle and take to the open, quiet roads of our quaint community. Your golf cart is your ticket to fun! **
BICYCLES
Choose one of our single or tandem bikes. Share the beauty of our nature trails in Geneva State Park and explore Geneva-on-the-Lake from the seat of your bicycle. Nature is calling with so much to see. Reserve and pick-up your equipment at the Welcome Center. *

** Golf carts are available for pickup at 1:00 pm from the Welcome Center. All golf carts must be returned by 11:00 am on the return date. Our carts are equipped with windshields and headlights for night driving. Rentals are available to guests 18 years of age and up with a valid driver’s license on them while operating the cart.
Area Attractions
Breakwater Beach
Distance from resort: 0.3 Mile
Breakwater Beach is a white sandy beach just a short walk from our Resort. The beach is located inside Geneva State Park with parking available for your golf cart, bike or car. A popular destination for many during the summer months – “a beautiful beach right in our own backyard”. Sit back, relax and enjoy the lake breezes and sunshine or paddle out on a paddleboard or kayak exploring the shoreline. Be sure to check out the old green and white harbor beacon at the end of the breakwater.
Geneva Marina
Distance from resort: 2.10 Miles
Geneva Marina provides direct, uninterrupted access to Lake Erie’s central basin. The marina features ample boat docks with 407 slips and transient docking. A six-lane boat ramp gives you plenty of room to head out into the wild blue yonder. Charter a fishing boat to experience the “walleye capital of the world.”
Lodge and Conference Center

The Lodge and Conference Center at Geneva-on-the-Lake boasts breathtaking views with its location. Horizons Restaurant and Lounge

Horizons Restaurant and Lounge within The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake creates relaxing lunches and candlelit dinners with spectacular views of Lake Erie. Horizons has tables ready and waiting and is the pinnacle of The Lodge’s dining experience. In warmer weather enjoy Lake Erie outdoors on their patio. Each setting offers great menus featuring local and seasonal specialties and flavors, a wonderful list of local Ohio wines, and live entertainment in the Lounge on the weekends.
Lake Erie Canopy Tours

Come soar with the eagles and through the trees and then enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Erie. As the newest aerial adventure park in Northeast Ohio, located at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake, Lake Erie Canopy Tours is the largest aerial attraction east of Cleveland. Village of Geneva-on-the-Lake

The Lakehouse Inn

The Lakehouse Inn is a boutique hotel located along the Southern Shore of Lake Erie in Geneva-on-the-Lake. The property consists of an eight-room bed and breakfast, four cottages, full production winery, Crosswinds Grille (featuring farm-to-table cuisine) and a luxury spa.
Adventure Zone

Adventure Zone is the region’s family fun center with a giant arcade, go carts, bumper boats, 2 miniture golf courses, climbing walls and much more.
The Strip (Geneva-on-the-Lake)
Distance from resort: 3.1 miles
“The Strip” – the local’s term for the mile-long stretch of Lake Road in Geneva-on-the-Lake. Reminiscent of a vintage boardwalk, discover The Strip’s delightful collection of unique eateries, a micro-brewery, shops and entertainment. Most attractions are open from Mother’s Day through Labor Day.
Historic Ashtabula Harbor
Distance from resort: 12.3 miles
Along the waterfront where the Ashtabula River meets Lake Erie is a vibrant entertainment district in Northeast Ohio known for its historic buildings, local retail shops, a micro-brewery and eclectic restaurants.
It is known for a variety of great events including the Beach Glass Festival, Wine & Walleye Festival, The Arts on Bridge Street and more. It is the 2018 winner of Main Street America contest. Visit the Historic Ashtabula Harbor to explore a variety of flavors, sights, sounds, and history.
The Grand River Valley Region

On the ridge of the Grand River, visitors will find rolling acres of manicured vineyards. On sunny days in the fall, the sweet smell of ripening grapes hangs heavy in the air. Historic Covered Bridges
Longest and shortest in the U.S.
Ashtabula County is Ohio’s Covered Bridge Capital with 19 covered bridges including the longest and shortest in United States. Our bridges attract visitors year round, especially during the intense fall colors that start around the last week in September.
Amish Country
Distance from resort: 24.0 to 35 miles
Looking for something unique and a step back in time, visit Byler’s Community Kitchen in Jefferson, Ohio and purchase some of their homemade Amish pastries, pies and cakes, cheeses, deli meats and bulk foods. Or visit Cherry Valley Furniture (The Orignal Barn Store) in Andover, Ohio for Amish-crafted indoor and outdoor furniture, and bulk foods. They are a “country marketplace providing the best that Amish Country has to offer”.
James A. Garfield National Historic Site
Distance from resort: 28.5 miles
James A. Garfield National Historic Site is located in Mentor, Ohio. The park preserves the property associated with the 20th President of the United States, James A. Garfield. It is the origins of The Front Porch Campaign and the first presidential library established in the United States.
Cleveland
Distance from resort: 53 miles
Cleveland – “Never flashy. Never trendy. Always Cleveland”. Well known landmarks and attractions – home to The Cleveland Indians, The Cavs, The Browns, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Playhouse Square, Cedar Point Amusement Park, Cleveland Museum of Art, The Warehouse District, The Cleveland Orchestra, The West Side Market, Jack Cleveland Casino, The East Side of The Flats and much more.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Distance from resort: 63.1 miles
Cuyahoga Valley National Park lies along the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron. The Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail is a restored section of the canal’s original towpath. The towering and majestic Brandywine Falls is one of several waterfalls to walk and hike. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad runs through the park offering year round train rides. But it is best known for its Polar Express experience departing its station each November and December.

Canton
Home of Football Hall of Fame – 94.7 miles
The Pro Football Hall of Fame located in Canton, Ohio stands as a shining tribute to the men who have made professional football America’s most popular sport. Opened in 1963, the Hall of Fame enshrines exceptional figures in the sport of professional football. The Hall inducts between four and eight new enshrinees each year on the first weekend of August. The Hall of Fame’s Mission is to “honor the heroes of the game, preserve its history, promote its values and celebrate excellence everywhere”.
