Neighboring Geauga County is home to the 4th largest Amish community in the United States. Wind your way to Middlefield for several points of interest. Tips for your day trip to Amish country:
- Check hours of operation before heading to your destination. Amish owned businesses do not operate on Sundays.

Here are some of our favorite stops:
- End of the Commons General Store: A unique family-owned general store that has been around since 1840. The shop offers unique gadgets, antiques and treats such as penny candy and fry pies.
- Middlefield Cheese Co-op: Watch cheese being made Monday through Friday before noon. Pass by Trumbull Locker on your way where you can grab some of the best beef jerky and smokies in the area.
- Yoder Furniture: Here you will find beautiful furniture made to order. Items are available for purchase in store.
- White House Chocolate Look for the one-room school houses on the way. Candy is made in the red building behind the house, so be sure to take a peek. This store also sells ice cream.
- Mary Yoder’s Amish Kitchen: Enjoy lunch or dinner. Shop the store and make sure you visit the bakery. The breads, pies and cinnamon rolls are delicious.
- Rothenbuhler’s Cheese House: The Chalet offers a variety of gourmet cheeses, meats, maple syrup, jams, pancake mixes & more. Try their award-winning Swiss cheese.
- Sunrise Farms: The farm has a market, gift shop, and greenhouse. Open year-round offering seasonal plants and produce.
